Report on 2026 Annual General and Special Meeting
The AGM was held on Tuesday 30 June at Shirley House. 29 members attended, which exceeds the 25 required for a quorum. In his opening address, Ken Lambert thanked the many people involved with all the activities carried out by NENG and its sub groups. He gave especial thanks to Howard Fry, who is standing down from the NENG Committee after many years as secretary, not to mention Howard’s involvement with the Farmers Market, Open Gardens, Chelsea Park and notably shinning up ladders to put up the Christmas trees and lights at the Nether Edge crossroads. Not bad for an ** year old !

Ken Lambert summarised the activities of the Frog Walk Pocket Park and Open Gardens
Some key points made by the presenters were:-

The Our Shared Streets group has established a Community Speed Watch, which is now up and running. The group has received funding from Cycling UK to support a “bike bus” to the Party in the Park

Two planters will be placed at the top of Archer Lane, courtesy of Amey, with NENG funding the Council license.

Money collected at the Party in the Park will be shared between Family Voice and the Scouts.

The older Chelsea Park benches have been cleaned through the Community Payback scheme, and two new benches by the playground funded by NENG. The focus of the Friends of Chelsea Park is to raise funds to maintain and improve facilities in the park.

Open Gardens had 19 gardens open this year, with £3239 raised for various charities and between 40-150 visitors to each garden.

Chris Hill will become Chair, swapping with Ken Lambert, who becomes Secretary. Richard Taylor stays as Treasurer, and Sue Chantler stays on as Acting Vice Chair. The four trustees are Ken Lambert, Marion Gerson, Richard Taylor and new trustee Chris Hill.
After the AGM closed the Special Meeting voted unanimously to accept the proposal for NENG to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and to accept the draft new Constitution. A vote of thanks was raised for Ken for all the work he had put into this initiative and all the work he had done as chair over several years.
Cakes and posh squash was then available for all and the meeting concluded with a light hearted quiz.

Report on 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The AGM was held on Thursday 24th July at Shirley House. 30 members attended, which exceeds the 25 required for a quorum. The meeting followed the pattern established for the last couple of meetings, with short interventions by the officers, followed by reports of all the sub group activities given by the lead person for each sub group as follows:-

Rurth Bernard is stepping down as Vice Chair after many years of sterling service, though she will remain on the Committee and the EDGE Editorial Board. Ruth was thanked by all the members present.
Ken Lambert will remain as Chair, Richard Taylor stays as Treasurer. Newly appointed officers are Chris Hill as Secretary and Sue Chantler as Vice Chair; both were warmly welcomed. Howard Fry stepped down as a trustee. The four trustees are Ken Lambert, Marion Gerson, Richard Taylor and new trustee Fran Kime.
After the formal meeting closed, there was a light hearted quiz. This will be replicated in the December edition of EDGE.

AGM 2021
The 2021 AGM took place on Wednesday 24th February via Zoom. Just over 50 members attended as well as Councillors Alison Teal and Jim Steinke.
