Over many years the church building of St Andrew's Sharrow (Anglican) Church became progressively more unsafe because of shifting foundations at the West end. Finally, in 1996, the building was abandoned and the congregation joined with that of Psalter Lane Methodist Church in 1998 to begin the adventure of a shared ministry. The old building has now been knocked down although the Church Centre remains. The Psalter Lane building has now been redeveloped, with a splendid new foyer and extended meeting facilities. (At the left is a view of the stained glass east window designed by Rona Moody.)
