"There are two calls to action today. One is for residents of Nether Edge, who should see the poster below from Save Netheredge Trees. The other is from STAG. Dave Dillner would like those who are fed up of AMEY and Streets Ahead following SCC's ignoring the 13,000 strong roadside petition, and want to make a real difference, to contact STAG on dillnerdave@googlemail.com or via the STAG Facebook page please."

"A correspondent has sent this, taken this week on Clarkehouse Road. If you have a lime avenue near you, this is likely to happen to some of the majestic trees causing an 'inconvenience'. This tree was not dying, or dead, or diseased. If we don't make our voices heard soon, this will be a common sight."

Angela Jane Spensley Why are they being removed?. The trees plays a vital role in our ecosystem. We are supposed to be a green city but land is been built upon and now this! I can only hope that the council see what they are doing is wrong. Why replace a mature tree with a flimsy little thing? Makes no sense.
