Nether Edge Market is the local shopping centre housing a good range of shops and local amenities. Here you will find two supermarkets (Popats and Sainsburys Local), Turners Bakery and Oxfam with its great choice of books.The market place also boasts two local hairdressers (Bladerunners and The Studio), a launderette and the Byron Hotel which shows a wide variety of live matches.
The Nether Edge Bowling Club on Nether Edge Rd is at the centre of the action on market days - opening up for children’s activities and providing the focus for licensed refreshments. Why not join them for a game of bowls or croquet on the excellent greens belonging to this private members club that dates back to 1867?
Many local shops are open for business on Sunday market days including Zeds Wholefoods, Wickwire, Moss & Clover florists, the Birdhouse specialist tea shop, Oxfam and St Luke’s Hospice. Café#9 is a street café serving excellent teas, coffees and snacks with great music. Homemade by Thelmas is the latest addition to our high street providing a comprehensive local food outlet including a deli, sit down and take away service and outside catering.
